St James Facade

The St James Theatre is a heritage stage theatre and cinema located on Queen Street. It was Built in 1928, as a replacement for the older Fuller's Opera House and was originally designed for vaudeville acts. St James has been closed since 2007 after a fire that caused severe damage to the internal structure. Over the years, Auckland Council has contributed funding for its restoration but it is not even close to completion. Perhaps not for another decade at least. . This design is a conceptual proposal for a facade design if the restoration work is ever completed. A Kit set construction on the building wall adjacent to the Auckland Library.
